Steam Coil
Premium steam coils meticulously tailored to your precise requirements, whether for new equipment installation or replacement in commercial and industrial settings
How Steam Coils Work
Steam coils serve as a prevalent heat source within air handlers, delivering warmth to a wide range of commercial and industrial structures. The air propelled by fans is gently heated as it courses through aluminum, stainless steel, or copper fins, absorbing the heat from the steam circulating through the tubes. Steam coils can also be found in rooftop units and within ductwork.
The majority of steam coils we encounter operate at low pressure, typically around 5 to 15 PSI. However, we offer steam coils designed for applications requiring significantly higher steam pressure, often used for industrial process heating. In such cases, stainless steel tubes are a common choice, known for their ability to withstand the elevated pressures and temperatures
Steam Coil Components Explained
While steam coils exhibit a straightforward design, it remains essential to understand their components when placing an order. Equally critical is knowing the steam pressure levels in use. When ordering, it’s imperative to inform your representative to prevent the procurement of an undersized coil. Excessive steam pressure can significantly shorten the lifespan of your coil. Additionally, even steam coils can freeze if subjected to cold temperatures or if condensation forms within the tubes when the unit is inactive. Repairing leaks in the middle of a coil is not recommended, as it leads to a substantial loss in efficiency and may result in future leaks.
When designing a replacement steam coil, you have a plethora of material options to consider. It may not be necessary to replicate the exact specifications of the previous coils. You might require more fins to enhance capacity or fewer fins for easier cleaning. Below, you’ll find a list of material options to explore
